SDA APOSTASY

This page will continue to be updated as research continues. This page will carry the quotes of Sister White that the SDA church leaders refuses to share with their brethren regarding her comments concerning the present and future state of the SDA. You will find they will only share those quotes concerning statements made IN HER DAY regarding the state of the church at that time. They literally take her out of context so as to deceive you into staying with them in sin. Some said back in Sister White's day that the SDA church was Babylon THEN. However, that was not the truth, and Sister White rebuked them for it. The SDA preachers of today boldly lie and state she meant those rebukes for today. Using common sense as well as researching her comments in context one can see the lie for what it is. A lie.

The following quotes will bless you with ample evidence that she did in fact declare the end result of the SDA church to be Babylon. This is all due to the apostasy growing in her day which came to a head in our day.

"Concerning Babylon, the symbol of the apostate church, He says to His ministers of judgment, "Her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double." Rev. 18:5, 6.  -Christ's Object Lessons 178.4

Many of the SDA people declare they know their church is in apostasy. Some actually leave the church because of this apostasy. However, even after leaving some still claim the SDA church is NOT Babylon? If that is so, explain the above quote.

"They that forsake the law praise the wicked." Proverbs 28:4. When those who are uniting with the world, yet claiming great purity, plead for union with those who have ever been the opposers of the cause of truth, we should fear and shun them as decidedly as did Nehemiah. Such counsel is prompted by the enemy of all good. It is the speech of timeservers, and should be resisted as resolutely today as then. Whatever influence would tend to unsettle the faith of God's people in His guiding power, should be steadfastly withstood.  -Prophets and kings 660.1

"That these men should stand in a sacred place, to be as the voice of God to the people, as we once believed the General Conference to be--that is past".--Last Day Events 50.4

“I saw that God has honest children among the nominal Adventists and the fallen churches, and before the plagues shall be poured out, ministers and people will be called out from these churches and will gladly receive the truth. Satan knows this and before the loud cry of the third angel is given, he raises an excitement in these religious bodies, that those who have rejected the truth may think that God is with them. He hopes to deceive the honest and lead them to think that God is still working for the churches. But the light will shine, and all who are honest will leave the fallen churches, and take their stand with the remnant -Early Writings: page 261.

"At Oswego, New York, September 7, 1850, the Lord showed me that a great work must be done for His people before they could stand in the battle in the day of the Lord. I was pointed to those who claim to be Adventists, but who reject the present truth, and saw that they were crumbling and that the hand of the Lord was in their midst to divide and scatter them now in the gathering time, so that the precious jewels among them, who have formerly been deceived, may have their eyes opened to see their true state. And now when the truth is presented to them by the Lord's messengers, they are prepared to listen, and see its beauty and harmony, and to leave their former associates and errors, embrace the precious truth and stand where they can define their position."  -Early Writings 69.2

Of those who boast of their light, and yet fail to walk in it, Christ says, "But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you. And thou, Capernaum [Seventh-day Adventists, who have had great light], which art exalted unto heaven [in point of privilege], shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee." At that time Jesus answered and said, "I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent [in their own estimation], and hast revealed them unto babes."  -Review and Herald August 1, 1893 par. 5. (Bracketed comments were made by Ellen White)

“The Spirit is poured out upon all who will yield to its promptings, and casting off all man’s machinery, his binding rules and cautious methods, they will declare the truth with the might of the Spirit’s power.  Multitudes will receive the faith and join the armies of the Lord…The safeguards which false shepherds have thrown around their flocks with become as naught; thousands will step out  into the light, and work to spread the light.” -Review and Herald, vol 3, p 272-275 (July 16 & 23, 1895)

“We shall be called to meet those who notwithstanding definite reproof and warning through the Testimonies have gone on in an evil course.  We are bidden of God to hold ourselves separate and distinct from these men who have not given heed to His warning… For they deceive , if possible , the very elect.-Letter 330, November 11, 1906 & Manuscript Releases, vol 7, 196

I inquire of those in responsible positions in Battle Creek, (Present location of GC SDA) What are you doing? You have turned your back, and not your face, to the Lord. There needs to be a cleansing of the heart, the feelings, the sympathies, the words, in reference to the most momentous subjects--the Lord God, eternity, truth. What is the message to be given at this time? It is the third angel's message. But that light which is to fill the whole earth with its glory has been despised by some who claim to believe the present truth. Be careful how you treat it. Take off the shoes off your feet; for you are on holy ground. Beware how you indulge the attributes of Satan, and pour contempt upon the manifestation of the Holy Spirit. I know not but some have even now gone too far to return and to repent.  {TM 89.2}

To the heart softened by the grace of God, the sun, the moon, the stars, the trees, the flowers of the field, utter words of counsel. The sowing of the seed carries the mind to spiritual seed sowing. The tree declares that a good tree cannot bear evil fruit, neither can an evil tree bear good fruit. "Ye shall know them by their fruits." Matthew 7:16. Even the tares have a lesson. They are of Satan's sowing, and, if left unchecked, spoil the wheat by their rank growth.  {8T 326.3}

The Great Teacher came from heaven to plant in this world trees of light. He calls on nature to reflect to human minds the light that floods the threshold of heaven, that men and women may obey his word. And nature does the bidding of the Creator. To the heart softened by the grace of God, the sun, the moon, the stars, the lofty trees, the flowers of the field, utter their words of counsel and advice. The sowing of the seed carries the mind to spiritual seed-sowing. The tree stands forth declaring that a good tree can not bear evil fruit, neither can an evil tree bear good fruit. "Ye shall know them by their fruits." Even the tares have a lesson to teach. They are of Satan's sowing, and if left unchecked, spoil the wheat by their rank growth.  {SpM 186.4}

As character develops, men and women will take their positions; for varied circumstances brought to bear upon them will cause them to reveal the spirit which prompts them to action. Everyone will reveal the character of the bundle with which he is binding himself. The wheat is being bound up for the heavenly garner....the true people of God are now pulling apart, and the tares are being bound in bundles to burn, decided positions will be taken." Letter 12, Aug. 22, 1892, p 3 (Last Day Events, p 90)

"There are professedly pious men who screen the sinner by their own transgression. They disregard the commandments of God, choosing the traditions of men, making void the law of God, and promoting apostasy. The excuses they make are feeble and weak and will bring destruction to their own souls and the souls of others. . . .
     Upon those who have taken upon them the work of shepherds of the flock, will be visited the heaviest judgments, because they have presented to the people fables instead of truth. Children will rise up and curse their parents. Church members, who have seen the light and been convicted, but who have trusted the salvation of their souls to the minister, will learn in the day of God that no other soul can pay the ransom for their transgression. A terrible cry will be raised, "I am lost, eternally lost." Men will feel as though they could rend in pieces the ministers who have preached falsehoods and condemned the truth. The pure truth for this time requires a reformation in the life, but they separate themselves from the love of the truth, and of them it can be said, "O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself." The Lord sends a message to the people, "Set a trumpet to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of the Lord, because they have transgressed my covenant and trespassed against my law" (Letter 30, 1900).  -SDA Bible Commentary, Vol 4 page 1157.par 1,2}

The enemy of souls, has sought to bring in the supposition that a great reformation was to take place among Seventh-day Adventists, and that this reformation would consist in giving up the doctrines which stand as the pillars of our faith, and engaging in a process of reorganization.  Were this reformation to take place, what would result?—The principles of truth that God in His wisdom has given to the remnant church would be discarded.  Our religion would be changed.  The fundamental principles that has sustained the work for the last fifty years would be accounted as error.  A new organization would be established.  Books of a new order would be written.  A system of intellectual philosophy would be introduced.  The founders of this system would go into the cities and do a wonderful work.  The Sabbath, of course, would be lightly regarded, as also the God who created it.  Nothing would be allowed to stand in the way of the new movement.  The leaders would teach that virtue is better than vice, but God being removed, they would place their dependence on human power, which without God, is worthless.  Their foundation would be built upton the sand, and storm and tempest would sweep away the structure. -Letter 242, October 1903 & Special Testimonies, Series B #7, p. 36-42

"If the church of God becomes lukewarm, it does not stand in favour with God any more than do the churches that are represented as having fallen and become the habitation of devils and the hold of every foul spirit and the cage of every unclean and hateful bird." Letter 35, 1898, p. 6-7

"We are in danger of becoming a sister to fallen Babylon, of allowing our churches to become corrupted, and filled with every foul spirit, and cage of every unclean and hateful bird." Letter 51, 9/6/1886

"The world must not be introduced into the church. And married to the church, forming a bond of unity Through this means the church will become indeed CORRUPT AND AS STATED IN Revelation, a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. Testimonies to Ministers p.265

"In amazement they hear the testimony that Babylon is the church, fallen because of her errors and sins, because of her rejection of the truth sent to her from Heaven." -Spirit of Prophecy, vol 4, p 424 or Great Controversy, p 606-607

"A virtuous woman represents a pure church, a vile woman an apostate church. Babylon is said to be a harlot;" 4sp p.232

“It is impossible to tell what might have been the character of the church today, had its members been doing the works of Christ.  It is a sad fact that the great proportion of God’s professed people have not had faith in Christ as their personal Savior…”   “The devotion and experience of the professed people of God are not in harmony with the light and privileges that God has given them.  They are to be children of the light, children of the day, and yet many who have had exalted privileges fail to manifest corresponding faith and works.  Jesus says to them as He said to the city wherein He had done mighty works, and they failed to appreciate the light and to confirm their life to it, “Woe unto thee, Chorazin! Woe unto thee, Bethsaida! For if the might works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes,’….  “Of those who boast of their light, and yet fail to walk in it, Christ says, “But I say unto you, it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.  And thou, Capernaum [Seventh-day Adventists, who have had great light], which art exalted unto heaven [in point of privilege], SHALL BE BROUGHT DOWN TO HELL…”  for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.  But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.’ At that time Jesus answered and said, “ I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things for the wise and prudent [in their own estimation], and hast revealed them unto babes’ [Matthew 11:21-25].

“And now, because ye have done all these works, saith the Lord, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not; therefore will I do unto this house, which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto this place which I give to you and to your fathers, as I done to Shiloh.  And I will cast you out of My sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephriam’  [Jeremish 7: 13-15]… -Review and Herald, vol 3, p 69-70 (August 1, 1893) (Brackets by Ellen White)

As for the voice of the General Conference, there is no voice from God through that body that is reliable.” Manuscript 57, October  12, 1895 & Manuscript Releases, vol 17, p 178

“Now those who have had years in this same experience, know not God nor Jesus Christ whom He has sent, and should such go forth as representatives of Jesus Christ?  These men will never give the right mold to other minds; they have grown up to the full stature of men and women in Christ.  They simply have the name of Christians but are not fitted for the work of God, and never will be until they are born again, and learn the A.B.C. in true religion of Jesus Christ.  There is a little hope in one direction: Take the young men and women, and place them where they will come as little in contact with our churches as possible, that the low grad of piety which is current in the day shall not leaven their ideas of what it means to be a Christian.” -Letter 16f, May 9, 1892 & Manuscript Releases, vol 12, p 332-333

“We shall be called to meet those who notwithstanding definite reproof and warning through the Testimonies have gone on in an evil course.  We are bidden of God to hold ourselves separate and distinct from these men who have not given heed to His warning… For they deceive , if possible , the very elect. -Letter 330, November 11, 1906 & Manuscript Releases, vol 7, 196

  "A glorious light then rested down upon these companies, to enlighten all who would receive it. Some of those who were in darkness received the light and rejoiced. Others resisted the light from heaven, saying that it was sent to lead them astray. The light passed away from them, and they were left in darkness. Those who had received the light from Jesus joyfully cherished the increase of precious light which was shed upon them. Their faces beamed with holy joy, while their gaze was directed upward to Jesus with intense interest, and their voices were heard in harmony with the voice of the angel, 'Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come.' As they raised this cry, I saw those who were in darkness thrusting them with side and with shoulder. Then many who cherished the sacred light, broke the cords which confined them and stood out separated from those companies. As they were doing this, men belonging to the different companies and revered by them passed through, some with pleasing words, and others with wrathful looks and threatening gestures, and fastened the cords which were weakening. These men were constantly saying, 'God is with us. We stand in the light. We have the truth.' I inquired who these men were, and was told that they were ministers and leading men who had rejected the light themselves, and were unwilling that others should receive it."  -Early Writings 240.1&2

"God calls upon this church to make a change. They had a name to live, but their works were destitute of the love of Jesus. Oh, how many have fallen because they trusted in their profession for salvation! How many are lost by their effort to keep up a name! If one has the reputation of being a successful evangelist, a gifted preacher, a man of prayer, a man of faith, a man of special devotion, there is positive danger that he will make shipwreck of faith when tried by the little tests that God suffers to come. Often his great effort will be to maintain his reputation." -7BC: p. 958

"Not by its name, but by its fruit, is the value of a tree determined. If the fruit is worthless, the name cannot save the tree from destruction." DA p.107

Who can truthfully say: "Our gold is tried in the fire; our garments are unspotted by the world"? I saw our Instructor pointing to the garments of so-called righteousness. Stripping them off, He laid bare the defilement beneath. Then He said to me: "Can you not see how they have pretentiously covered up their defilement and rottenness of character? 'How is the faithful city become an harlot!' My Father's house is made a house of merchandise, a place whence the divine presence and glory have departed! For this cause there is weakness, and strength is lacking." 8T 250.2

“...as the human heart throws its living current of blood into all parts of the body, so does the management at this place, the headquarters of our church, affect the whole body of believers.  If the physical heart is healthy, the blood that is sent from it through the system is also healthy;  but if this fountain is impure, the whole organism becomes diseased by the poison of the vital fluid.  So it is with us.  If the heart of the work becomes corrupt, the whole church, in its various branches and interests, scattered abroad over the face of the earth, suffers in consequence.” Testimonies, vol 4, p 210.

"What a wonderful work could have been done for the vast company gathered in Battle Creek at the General Conference of 1901, if the leaders of our work had taken themselves in hand.  But the  work that all heaven was waiting to do as soon as men prepared the way, was not done; for the leaders closed and bolted the door against the Spirit’s entrance.  There was a stopping short of entire surrender to God.  And hearts that might have been purified from all error were strengthened in wrong doing.  The doors were barred against the heavenly current that would have swept away all evil.  Men left their sins unconfessed.  They built themselves up in wrong doing, and said to the Spirit of God, 'Go thy way for this time; when I have a more convenient season, I will call for thee.'...
     "It is only when we serve God in the strictest integrity and in humility of mind, trusting in Jesus, that we are safe.  Everything is to be shaken that can be shaken." Battle Creek Letters, p 55-56, 58 (Letter 123, August 5, 1902).

“We are exhorted, ‘touch not the unclean.’  Those who associate with the impure, themselves become impure.  If we choose the society of the ungodly, we shall be affected by their ungodliness.” Review and Herald, October 23, 1888 (vol 2, p 255).

 You are exhorted to touch not the unclean thing; for in touching this, you will yourself become unclean.  It is impossible for you to unite with those who are corrupt, and still remain pure.  ‘What fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?  and what concord hath Christ with Belial?’  God and Christ and the heavenly host would have man know that if he unites with the corrupt, he will become corrupt.” Bible Commentary, vol 6, p 1102 (Review and Herald, vol 4, p 137).

 “Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ?  Shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot?  God forbid.  What?  Know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body?  For two, saith He, shall be one flesh.” 1 Corinthians 6:16.

 “Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.  Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.” Hebrews 13:12-13.
